Ultimate Otaku Teacher
If you liked the teaching part of We never learn, then here’s an anime that solely focuses on teaching.
The Ultimate Otaku Teacher, as the name suggests is about an Otaku teacher, who also happens to be a genius physicist. With his unique style of teaching he helps his students to learn various things outside of academics. Long story short, this is an anime about an Otaku giving life advice to students.
Both the protagonists are teachers/tutors.
Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun
Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun is an amazing rom-com anime about a cheerful girl, Sakura Chiyo who has a crush on Umetarou Nozaki. When she finally musters the courage to confess her love for him, Nozaki hands her his autograph. Turns out he thought that she was a fan of his Shoujo manga. Then Chiyo somehow ends up becoming his manga assistant and discovers the cute and funny sides of Nozaki.
Both the anime has geniuses who excel in one field, but is a noob in every other fields. Nozaki is a genius when it comes to writing manga, but he has no social skills and has a really hard time reading other people’s emotions.
Kaguya-sama: Love Is War
Kaguya-sama love is war is another sweet romantic comedy anime, where both the male and female protagonists love each other, but they don’t want to confess their love first. They both plot different schemes to make the other party confess to them.
Like Nariyuki, the male protagonist, Miyuki Shirogane in Kagaya-sama comes from a poor background.
Both anime puts intelligent characters in awkward romantic situations.
My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong, As I Expected
That hilariously long title or just Oregaiu for short, is a brilliant rom-com anime where the anti-social kids are made to join a club where they help other people. The main protagonist Hikigaya Hachiman, who is a part of that club, finds nontraditional, self-sabotaging ways of helping people with a pinch of hilariousness and cockiness.
Noticing his self-destructive nature, the girls of the club (who later on learns they have a crush on him and y’know the usual love triangle stuff) try to make him change his ways.
Both the anime happens in a high school setting.
Similar to We never learn, Oregairu has a genius girl who likes the main protagonist. It also has an awesome teacher (like Kirisu-sensei) who cares much about her students.
Nisekoi – False Love
Nisekoi is your average comedy, harem, romance anime. Due to certain family circumstances the male protagonist and the female protagonist are acting as lovers and deceive people into thinking that they’re dating. Even though they hate each other in the beginning they start to understand each other as they continue their acting.
But ofcourse, Nisekoi being a harem anime, they are love rivals who compete to win the heart of the main protagonist.
Both the anime has a wide harem of girls who have a crush on the mc.
It has a lot of similar moments, like the bath scene, getting lost in the woods scene, etc.
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou)
Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo is a beautiful romantic comedy anime where the genius, misfits are put together in a dorm named Sakurasou. The main protagonist, although he is a normal student, joins this dorm as he wants to take care of the stray cats he found (because pets were not allowed in the normal dorm.)
There he finds a beautiful, doll-ish girl called Mashiro who knows nothing other than art. She can’t even change her dress on her own. The main protagonist is tasked with taking complete care of her.
Like Bokuben, here the main male protagonist is tasked with taking care of a genius girl.
In both the anime, these so-called genius characters find love for the first time in their life.
Similar to We never learn, this anime has a childhood friend who loves the mc and a teacher who cares for her students discreetly.
The Quintessential Quintuplets
The Quintessential Quintuplets is about Uesugi Fuutarou, a poor yet brilliant student who has taken the responsibility to tutor some troublesome girls. In the beginning, the Nakano sisters are not very comfortable to have an outsider among them. Until then they had solely relied on each other to get through any situation. Now, Fuutarou is forced to find a way to help these girls to graduate if he wants to earn a living. But will he be able to earn their trust to make that possible?
Both the protagonists are tasked with tutoring troublesome girls. They’re both earnest when it comes to teaching them.
Both the mc work studiously to pay for expenses that their impoverished family can’t possibly cover.
So that’s it! This is my list of top 7 anime like We Never Learn. Hope you found something to watch.
