Plunderer, a fantasy romance anime, debuted in 2020 during the Winter anime season. After airing 24 exciting episodes, the series concluded on June 25, 2020. Since then, fans have eagerly anticipated a second season. Unfortunately, there’s no official confirmation that Plunderer season 2 is in development.

Plunderer Season 2 Release Date & Status
The anime’s season one aired on multiple channels from January to June 2020. Funimation streamed it worldwide. While there were a good number of negative reviews, I’d say the show was well-received.
Geek Toys, the studio behind Plunderer, hasn’t confirmed Season 2. Positive feedback suggests it won’t be canceled. That said, it is very normal for animes to get renewed 5-7 years after the first season. So, there’s still hope.
We anticipate an official update from the showrunners in 2024. If it is confirmed next year, then, in the best case scenario, Plunderer Season 2 might arrive in 2025, considering the current situation.
Fans await news about the show’s future. The manga has ended and has enough content for Plunderer Season 2. Therefore, the possibility of renewal is high.
Is There Enough Source Material For A Sequel?
The Plunderer manga series officially ended on April 26, 2022, with a total of 21 volumes. The English-translated version of the final volume is set to be published in October 2023.
Since the story has ended, the anime has a good amount of content to adapt. The season covered the story until volume 10 of the manga. A few moments from Volume 11, Chapter 36, have also been animated in the final episode of the series.
So, the next season will continue animation for the rest of volume 11 and possibly cover the end of the manga. That said, if the next season is supposed to have only 12 episodes, we can expect it to adapt volumes 11–15.
Either way, there is more than enough source material for Plunderer Season 2.

What Will Happen In Plunderer Season 2?
In Plunderer’s first season finale, Licht held himself responsible for classmates’ deaths. Hina and Licht united to find all seven ballots. They aimed to aid humanity rather than harm Alicia with the votes.
Plunderer Season 2 will likely carry on from the first season’s events. Hina and Licht’s pursuit of the seven ballots, along with their adventures, will be the focus. With Alicia involved, significant challenges await.
Personally, I think the next season is going to be far better than the first because it will have some plot twists that you would’ve never saw coming. We are also sure to get some banger quotes just like the ones from season 1.
Which Studio Will Animate The Next Season?
Geek Toys is a relatively new Japanese animation studio that has been in the industry since 2017. They have only animated over 15 anime, including titles such as Liar Liar, Date a Bullet, and Dead Mount Death Play.
If they confirm the sequel to Plunderer, we can expect Geek Toys to continue the anime adaptation. That said, this has not been officially announced at this point in time.

Where Can I Watch Plunderer Season 2?
The anime’s season 1 is already available to watch on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Netflix. Since they’ve probably got the license to distribute the series, we can expect the same platforms to publish the second season when it airs.
