How Many Straw Hats Have Haki In One Piece?

Haki is a game-changing concept in the world of One Piece. Some of the otherwise invincible devil fruit powers get nerfed thanks to Haki. We all know Luffy has Haki, but what about the rest of the crew? How many straw hats have Haki ability?

In this article, I’ll be answering this question. I will go over each crew member and brief you on their abilities and how they use Haki.

So without further ado, let’s jump into the article!

Number of Straw Hats That Have Haki In One Piece

As of 2023, there are a total of five Straw Hat pirate members that can use Haki. This includes Monkey D. Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Jinbei, and Ussop.

As you might already know, there are three different types of haki. There are subtypes for each Haki, which I’ve listed in this article for your reference.

The number of haki abilities each straw hat possesses differs from one crew member to another.

Based on the number of haki abilities that each straw hat has (and their overall power), I will be ranking them in the next section.

Like I mentioned, there are 5 members of the straw hat crew that can use haki. In this section, I will be ranking them based on their overall strength, feats, and the number of Haki abilities they can use.

• Jinbei
• Sanji

5/5. Ussop has Observation Haki

Ussop is kind of one of the weakest characters in the straw hat crew. So it might be surprising to know that he actually has Haki powers.

Ussop has always been excellent at aiming things, even the ones that are too far away. However, his limits were pushed in the fight against Sugar.

In this battle, Ussop ended up unlocking his observation haki, which enabled him to see the auras of people from miles away.

Because of this, Ussop became an even more fearsome sniper.

4/5. Jinbei has Armament and Observation Haki

Next on our list is our beloved helmsman of the straw-hat pirates, Jinbei. Before he joined the crew, he was the top-ranking warlord of the sea.

What I’m trying to say is that he is and has always been way stronger than your average pirate.

While we don’t know exactly how Jinbei unlocked both oveservation haki and armament haki, we can only guess that his years of experience at sea gave him his powers.

3/5. Sanji has Observation Haki and Armament Haki

Sanji is one of the monster trio of straw hat pirates, and he possesses two types of haki.

During the two-year timeskip, Sanji spent all his days on Ivankov’s island, which pushed him mentally and physically.

He was basically overpowered and vastly outnumbered, and he had to escape the people of the island. In order to do that successfully, Sanji unlocked the observation haki.

Later, just before the time skip ends, he also unlocked Armament Haki, with which he defeated all his pursuers.

2/5. Zoro has all three types of Haki

Number two on our list is Luffy’s right-hand man, Roronoa Zoro. He aspires to be the world’s strongest swordsman, and he took lessons from the current strongest swordsman, Mihawk.

This happened during the two-year time skip where Zoro begged Mihawk to teach him, even though he is supposed to be his challenger in the future.

Regardless, Mihawk put Zoro through a lot of fights, which made him unlock both Armament and observation haki.

As for Conqueror’s haki, no amount of training can unlock it. Only certain individuals have it, and Zoro is one of them.

He first used his Conqueror’s haki in the Land of Wano arc.

1/5. Luffy has all three types of Haki

Finally, at number one, we have the captain of the straw hat pirate crew, Luffy, who is also the strongest Haki user in the crew.

Luffy first used haki during the Marine Ford arc, although he had no control over it. Later, during the two-year timeskip, he learned the basics of how to wield it under the tutelage of Rayleigh.

Luffy has armament haki, observation haki and conqueror’s haki. He improved his observation haki during his battle with Katakuri.

In his fight against Kaido, he learned to improve both the armament haki and the conqueror’s haki.

All of this makes him the strongest straw hat pirate and one of the strongest characters in all of One Piece.
