The Rising of The Shield Hero (a.k.a tate no yuusha no nariagari) is an isekai anime where the main protagonist, Naofumi Iwatani, is swayed into a fantasy land whilst reading a book in the library.
He was summoned as one of the four cardinal heroes: the shield hero. The heroes are the only hope of that world to fend off the inter-dimensional monsters.
Despite being a “hero”, Nafumi is betrayed by the king and the princess who summoned him, thus ends up being hated by the entire kingdom.
