Arifureta Season 3 Confirmed: Release Date, Plot & More!

If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you know Arifureta is one of my favorite anime. After successfully releasing two seasons, Arifureta season 3 is on the way! The exact release date is unknown at this point. But the production has been confirmed. So, we can expect the third season around late 2024.

In this article, I’ll be going over all the latest news about Arifureta 3. From its plot details to light novel coverage, learn everything about the long-awaited sequel!

Arifureta Season 3 Overview

Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou is coming back for a new season after season 2 concluded on March 31, 2022. Despite mixed initial reception, the recent success has fans eagerly anticipating another season. This is an isekai harem anime based on Ryo Shirakome’s light novel series. It follows Hajime Nagumo and his classmates, who are transported to a fantasy world with unique powers.

Arifureta Season 3 Release Date & Renewal Status

Renewal Status: At the “Arifureta: Phantom Adventure and Miraculous Encounter” talk show event, the renewal of the third season was announced. The news is also officially updated on the anime’s website and Twitter page. This is fantastic news for fans of the anime.

They revealed a key visual for Arifureta: Season 3 with Hajime and Yue. While we don’t have much more information, it’s exciting news. The third season may consist of 13 episodes. It’s great because it means more of the anime. Additionally, with the series’ popularity and plenty of source material, a fourth season could be on the horizon. 

Release Date: Arifureta: Season 3’s announcement was a surprise, but there’s no release date yet. Season 2 aired in March 2022, and the sequel confirmation happened later in the year. It’s too early to predict the air date, but Spring 2024 is a reasonable estimate. However, fans are eagerly waiting for any updates.

Is There Enough Source Material For A Sequel?

The fact that they’ve announced the production of season 3 means there is enough source material.

The Arifureta anime is actually adapted from the light novel of the same name. The light novel has been completed, and we got its final volume on September 25, 2022. It has a total of 13 volumes, out of which the anime covered the story until volume 6.

So,  the Arifureta season 3 adaptation will cover the remaining story from volume 7 to volume 9. Volumes 10 to 13 might be covered in further sequels.

There is also a prequel light novel, “Arifureta: Zero,” which has a total of six volumes. So, there is still enough source material for four more seasons.

What Will Happen In Arifureta Season 3?

Season 3 follows the light novel’s volume 7, with Hajime’s party entering a new dungeon section. In the upcoming season, the story will take us to the Haltina Labyrinth, as seen in the PV teaser above. Episode 12 hinted at Kouki and Shizuku heading there.

However, news of Haulia’s battle with the Empire and Demons shifts their plans. The light novel introduces new antagonists as the plot centers on defeating the Empire. Despite challenges, Hajime’s strength prevails.

Which Studio Will Animate The Next Season?

Studio Asread is confirmed to animate Arifureta: Season 3. This information is available on the anime’s official MyAnimeList page. The first season had pretty average animation. But the second season marked a visual improvement. So, we can expect the third to improve its animation even more.

The transition from Studio White Fox to Studio Asread brought a more vibrant art style to the second season. It replaced the gloomy color palette and improved the animation quality. Fans hope that the upcoming season will fix such animation issues.

Where Can I Watch Arifureta Season 3?
