Most of you might not remember, but a Yuri on Ice movie has been in the works for the past 5 years. In 2017 an original movie was announced at an exihibition event.
In 2018, there was an announcement revealing the movie title, which is “Yuri on Ice the Movie: Ice Adolescence.”
It was originally supposed to release in 2019, but it was postponed due to unexpected delays. Later, on November 2020, MAPPA released a trailer of the movie, which you can find below.
It has been three years since then. We are still waiting for more updates. But one thing is clear. Yuri on Ice season 2 will only happen after the movie is completed.
If we consider the production time and everything, it will take at least another 5 years to see the second season of Yuri on Ice. We predict a release around 2028.

From what we know from the trailer, the movie is going to be a prequel. It will feature a young Victor Nikiforov and his olympics debut. The movie will show the gorgeous 17 year old boy surprising the world with his talent.
