The light novel’s Part 1 story is complete, and it has a total of 20 bunkobon volumes.
A sequel light novel, “Gate: Weigh Anchor,” started releasing in 2017, and it is still going on. It has 20 bunkobon volumes so far. The story involves politics, nationalism, and fantastical creatures, as usual.
Gate also has a manga series by Satoru Sao, with 23 volumes released from 2011 to 2023. The Sekai Project cancelled the English translation in 2021. However, the Japanese manga is still ongoing.
The source material, including side stories and Gaidens, provides additional content beyond the anime adaptation. Japan wins the war in the manga series, but the gate reopens in “Gate: Weigh Anchor.”

Which Studio Will Animate GATE Season 3?
The first two seasons of Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite Kaku Tatakaeri were the work of Studio A1 Pictures. This studio is one of the most popular animation companies in Japan.
They’ve created a total of 244 anime, of which several titles became globally popular. Some of their famous works include Sword Art Online, Erased, Seven Deadly Sins, etc.
