10. Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again

Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again

Kicking things off at number 10 is Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again, a one of a kind romcom anime that is so wholesome and sweet that it’d be a shame not to recommend it on this list.

This is the story of an old couple who became young after eating fruit from the tree that they planted decades ago.

While their appearances may have changed, their love for each other remains the same, and we get to see the daily lives of our adorable old couple as they live their second lives as youths.

This anime might not have a lot in terms of plot or character development, but its slice-of-life aspect is exactly the reason why fans love this show.

9. My Love Story

My Love Story

Coming up next at number 9 is My Love Story, one of the best romcom anime where a cute girl falls in love with a not so cute guy.

This is the hilarious story of an intimidating dude whose appearance is enough to scare away girls and guys alike. Not to mention, he hangs out with the most handsome boy in town who ends up unintentionally attracting all the girls himself.

Having accepted his fate as an unlovable dude, our MC ends up playing cupid to unite his love interest with his best friend, despite his feelings for her.

While the anime does not have any etchi or fan service scenes to spice up the story, it is fun in its own wholesome way.

8. Romantic Killer

Romantic Killer

At number 8 on our list is Romantic Killer, a fairly new romcom series that has a female main protagonist and a reverse harem theme.

This story is about our girl Anzu who has absolutely no interest in romance what-so-ever. All she ever cared for was playing games, eating chocolate and having fun with her cat.

However, when she starts playing a dating sim, a flying wizard appears and announces that she will experience the dating game harem storyline in real life.

Things get hilarious as we see her resist all romantic encounters when she ends up meeting handsome boys one after the other at school.

Overall, this is a really fun romantic comedy series that you must definitely watch, even if it is only for the laughs.

7. Honey and Clover

Honey and Clover

For the next position on our list, we’ve got this underrated anime called “Honey and Clover,” a heartwarming romance story with a love polygon theme.

This is a beautiful series about a college sophomore who falls in love with a freshman girl when he sees her for the first time.

But the thing is, the story is not only about them but also their friends and their complex feelings for one another, giving way for some hilarious and dramatic moments.

With brilliant animation and a unique character design, Honey and Clover is a must watch in the genre!

6. Lovely Complex

Lovely Complex

Coming up next is this classic romcom series called Lovely Complex, yet another anime that takes place in a high school setting.

This story is about a boy and a girl who have a hard time finding love as their crushes end up falling in love with each other.

The two heartbroken souls encourage each other, become friends, and find that they might have more in common despite their differences.

Overall, Lovely Complex is a ridiculously good anime with a ton of comedy, an interesting plot and a whole lot of cute romances.

5. Monthly Girls’ Nozaki Kun

Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun

Half way through the list at number 5 is one of my personal favorites called Monthly Girls’ Nozaki Kun, yet another fanservice free romcom series that is simply comedy gold!

This is the story of a girl who discovers that her crush is a popular manga author in a girl’s magazine after an epic confession fail.

She ends up working with his assistant to get close to him and make him notice her feelings for him. However, our guy is as dense as they come and has no clue about all the advances that she makes.

This makes up for a ton of comedic moments as the misunderstandings just keep piling on, and our girl fails hilariously each time she tries to make a move.

With a whole cast of interesting characters and a lighthearted plot, Monthly Girls’ Nozaki Kun is definitely worth your time!

4. We Never Learn

We Never Learn

Coming up at number 4 is We Never Learn, the only anime on this list that has a ton of fanservice moments that make the story extremely hilarious.

This series is about our MC who ends up tutoring some of the most talented girls in his school who are the best at one subject but are below average in everything else.

As they spend more time with each other, all the girls end up falling in love with our MC, but he has no idea about their feelings, and this leads to a whole lot of funny moments.

With a total of 2 seasons and a few side stories, We Never Lean is one of the best harem themed romcom series out there!

3. Love is hard for Otaku

Love is hard for Otaku

At the third position on our list is this anime called Love is hard for Otaku which focuses on four working adults and their hilarious relationship.

Our main female character is a closet otaku who is determined to keep her obsessions a secret in her new workplace. But her secret is in danger when she meets an old schoolmate who knows all about her hobbies.

Luckily for them, they were not the only otakus in the office as they found two more who have their own unique interests.

It is a fun ride as we watch love blossom between these two couples, which leads to a whole lot of heartwarming and hilarious moments.

2. Nodame Cantabile

Nodame Cantabile

Runner up on our list is this underrated gem called “Nodame Cantabile” that not a lot of people know about. This is kind of a lighthearted version of Your Lie In April as it shares a similar romantic and musical theme, but has more comedic scenes to ease the mood.

But what makes me rank this series at the top is its beautiful blend of romance and slice of life, along with a pinch of comedy and a focus on the character’s musical career.

This story is about a boy and a girl who study at Japan’s top music university and dream of becoming the best in playing their instruments.

What’s more, these two end up becoming neighbors, and the girl ends up falling in love with our guy, which gives rise to a beautiful romantic comedy story that I’m sure you will love!

1. Tsurezure Children

Tsurezure children

Finally at the number 1 spot on our list is by far the funniest and most wholesome romcom anime I’ve ever watched: “Tsurezure Children.”

This is a relatively short anime series, with each episode lasting only about 10 minutes, but every second of this story is just brilliant!

This show focuses on five different highschool couples and their hilarious romantic lives as they navigate various obstacles that can arise when learning about romantic attraction for the first time.

Now, we could talk more about it, but the only way for you to know why we absolutely adore this series is to just watch it. So if you’re going to watch anything recommended in this article, make sure Tsurezure Children is at the top of the watch list!
