Is There Enough Source Material For A Sequel?
As of October 29, 2023, the original novel consists of six volumes. Volume 6 was released on November 30, 2016, and it’s been seven years since then. Fans eagerly await a new novel volume after this extended period.
The good news is that the author has confirmed that the seventh volume is being written. The anime series adapted the story until the novel’s 4th volume. So, there are only two more volumes left, which is not enough for another season.
Unless the author publishes more volumes, we are not going to get a sequel to Hyouka any time soon.
