Toilet bound Hanako kun Season 2 is officially confirmed! The news arrived a week after the After-School Hanako-Kun side story anime concluded.
In an official livestream on November 9, 2023, the After School Hanako-kun sequel and TBHK sequel were announced.
So far, we know that the After-school Hanako-kun spin-off sequel is set to release in Fall 2024. However, there is no news on the release date of Toilet bound Hanako kun 2.

Mangaka AidaIro created Toilet-bound Hanako-kun, a Japanese manga series serialized in Monthly GFantasy by Square Enix since 2014. The manga got its first anime adaptation in 2020 and a spin-off in 2023.
Toilet Bound Hanako kun Season 2 Release Date & Renewal Status
On November 9, 2023, Toilet-bound Hanako-kun anime’s official X account announced Toilet-bound Hanako-kun 2 with a teaser visual, showcasing Hanako-kun and Nene Yashiro:
TBHK season 2, revealed after four years, marks the third project in the franchise. Additionally, a sequel to After-School Hanako-kun, a spin-off series, is set for October 2024, following four episodes aired in Fall 2023.
Despite the teaser, no further details about Toilet-bound Hanako-kun 2 and the After-School Hanako-kun sequel have been disclosed.
However, based on historical release data, we can assume that the sequel will take at least 1-2 years to produce. So, we can expect season 2 of TBHK around early 2025.
Is There Enough Source Material For TBHK 2?
The TBHK manga series is still going on. It has a total of 20 volumes so far. The first season adapted Volumes 1 to 7 (35 chapters). However, it skipped a lot of stories, for which fans criticized the show.
Regardless, there is more than enough source material for Toilet Bound Hanako kun season 2.
Fans expected the second season to be a reboot, starting all over again from the first chapter. However, we got a pleasant surprise in November: we are actually getting a sequel instead of a reboot.
The second season will start with Chapter 36 of the manga, which is volume 8. Assuming it follows the same pace as TBHK 1, it might cover up volume 14.

Which Studio Will Animate TBHK 2?
Studio Lerche is the animation company behind TBHK 1 and the After School Hanako Kun series. They are clearly handling all TBHK-related adaptations.
So, we can expect Lerche to continue adapting season 2 of Toilet Bound Hanako kun.
This studio is fairly popular, known for golbal hits like “Assassination Classroom.” Their animation is on point, and their years of experience help them create the perfect adaptation.
