Fans have been eagerly waiting for Gamers anime season 2 for over six years now. The first season was fun-filled, but it lacked a proper conclusion. While there is no confirmation of a sequel, loyal fans are still looking forward to it. But years of silence are really concerning.

Gamers Anime Season 2 Release Date & Status
The Gamers’ first season premiered on July 13, 2017, with 12 episodes loved by audiences and critics, boasting a 6.6 IMDb rating.
Gamers Season 2’s fate remains uncertain after over six years. No renewal or cancellation news has emerged.
Season 1’s success and fans’ demand make cancellation unlikely.
But this is actually a bad sign because most anime don’t get an official “cancellation.” They just don’t get a sequel, and everyone forgets about them. So the anime might be in trouble.
In the best case scenario, Gamers Season 2 could potentially arrive in late 2024 or 2025. This is assuming that the show gets greenlit for production sometime in late 2023, or early 2024.
But realistically, I don’t think there is enough demand for the sequel for producers to greenlight the production. We probably won’t get to see the second season.
Is There Enough Source Material For A Sequel?
Similar to many other series, this one adapts a LN series and aims to boost its source material. Authors released 12 manga volumes from 2015 to 2019, concluding with volume 12.
Season 1 covered the first six LN volumes. With six more volumes, Pine Jam Studio has ample material for Gamers Season 2 and a potential final season.
What Will Happen In Gamers Anime Season 2?
The creators haven’t shared season 2’s plot yet, but we know it continues where the first season left off. Season 1 adapts the first six LN volumes, so season 2 will start at LN volume 7.
Season 1 ended with Chiaki’s confession to Keita. In the upcoming episode, Keita’s response will be revealed. According to the LN, Keita rejects Chiaki because he loves Karen. He’ll set boundaries with Chiaki and tell Karen the truth. In season 2, their relationship will evolve.

Which Studio Will Animate The Next Season?
Pine Jam studio, a lesser known Japanese animation company, animated season 1. They’re known for “Gleipnir”, “Just Because”, and other slice-of-life animes. Fans expect them for season 2 due to their success and experience.
That said, Studios might change for sequels too. It happens a lot in the anime industry. Unique styles could be introduced this way. The sequel’s studio is yet unknown, due to a lack of official announcement.
