AmaBuri fans have been waiting for a sequel for nine years, and there’s no news about season 2’s release. The fate of Amagi Brilliant Park 2 remains uncertain.

Official updates on the release date or changes are absent. The fact that Kyoto Animation did not make the first season faithful to the novel is concerning.

Usually, animation companies do this when they are not planning on releasing a sequel. This way, they can show the good parts of the story to their audience and make them buy the source material. So, if the anime was solely produced to boost novel sales, then we will probably never get another season.

Not to mention, in 2023, light novel and Blu-Ray sales in Japan are very low, so the chances of a renewal are even lower. Even though the series is pretty popular outside Japan, it doesn’t mean anything if there is no demand among the Japanese audience.

At this point, the best we can hope for is a rebooted version of the series sometime in the future.

Is There Enough Source Material For AmaBuri Sequel?

The Amagi Brilliant Park light novel has a total of eight volumes and is still ongoing in 2023. However, it has not gotten any new volumes since July 18, 2016. This is a concern for fans of the series.

Amagi Brilliant Park Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off. Since the first season covered Volumes 1, 2, and portions of volume 3, we expect the sequel to continue with the rest of volume 3 all the way till volume 6.

Though the storyline is unknown, Seiya Kanie’s journey continues. His intelligence and powers will be showcased. The return of the princess promises an exciting season. Official information on the plot is awaited for Amagi Brilliant Park Season 2.

Which Studio Will Animate AmaBuri 2?

Kadokawa (the producer) is the owner of Amagi Brilliant Park’s intellectual property. However, since Kyoto Animation animated the first season, we can almost say with certainty that they will not continue the next season. Because, usually, Kyoto Animation never produces a sequel for an anime whose IP belongs to Kadokawa.

This means we are most likely not going to see another season. But even if we did, Kyoto Animation would not be responsible for it.
