So far, the manga source material shows promise, with 12 volumes (104 chapters) available. Only 36 chapters (33–35 and the second half of the 36th chapter were skipped) were adapted in Season 1. This provides us enough source material for Houseki no Kuni season 2.
In the upcoming season, we can expect chapters 37 to 75 to be adapted.

Houseki no Kuni season 1 was the work of Studio Orange. This is a relatively small Japanese animation company that has been making a name for itself in the past few years.
It became widely known for “Black Bullet”, “Beastars”, and “Trigun Stampede.”
Since they already did a great job with the first season, they might handle the next season as well. This is what the fans would want, too.
However, at this point, it has not been officially announced. The studio might change, or Studio Orange might continue. We can’t say anything for sure at this point.
