I fan hanno atteso con impazienza Cop Craft Season 2 for almost four years. Viewers enjoyed the detective drama’s story but found the animation too animated. They believe the anime has great potential and want to see the second season.
The series is based on the Japanese action and fantasy light novel by Range Murata and Shoji Gatoh, which is still ongoing with six volumes.
Studio Millepensee animated the first season, which aired in July 2019 and consisted of twelve episodes, concluding in October 2019. Viewers are curious about the possibilities for this anime’s future.
As of August 2023, there is no official release date or announcements regarding the second season of the Cop Craft series.

Cop Craft Season 2: Release Date & Renewal Status
The first season of Cop Craft premiered on July 9, 2019, with twelve episodes concluding on October 1, 2019. It aired on Tokyo MX, BS11, and Wowow. The anime is based on a light novel series with six volumes. While most of the LN’s content was adapted into the anime, some portions were changed or cut, leading to a faster pace in the anime’s story.
The second season of Cop Craft did not include the third, fourth, or fifth LN volumes but started with the sixth. This suggests that there are three volumes worth of content for the second season’s story. While Season 2 is likely, no official release date or decision has been made public. Due to the time-consuming production process, the second season may not premiere until at least 2025.
Is There Enough Light Novel Source Material For The Sequel?
The first season of Cop Craft covered only the first two volumes of the light novel series. Currently, there are a total of six novels. So, there is more than enough source material for a second season.
If the anime follows the same pacing, the sequel will adapt the volume three and four of the light novel. The novel is still ongoing so we can expect more content once the author comes out of hiatus.

Is the Cop Craft Light Novel Series Canceled?
The anime Cop Craft is based on the light novel series by Shoji Gatoh and Range Murata’s illustrations. However, the light novel series might have been canceled or delayed. It’s up to Volume 6, and we have not recieved a new volume in seven years. After Volume six’s release in October 18, 2016 we have not heard a word about the continuation of the series.

However, the status of the series is still listed as “ongoing” in Wikipedia and MyAnimeList. The author is also healthy and well. But I can’t imagine that anyone would be on a seven year long hiatus. So, there is a very real possibility that the author has no intention of releasing further volumes.
Cop Craft Season 2 Plot
In the tale, protagonists Matoba Kei and Tirina Exedirika team up for a common goal. Sergeant Matoba Kei acquires an alien friend during a failed drug bust. They kidnap a fairy, their only common ground with the new partner, to apprehend criminals involved in the murder of Kei’s partner and recover the fairy.
The detectives from different universes have distinct approaches but share the mission of capturing criminals, restoring order, and upholding justice. The story revolves around the conflict and friendship between these police officers. Matoba Kei and Tirina Exedirika unite to achieve their purpose in the novel.
In season 2, we will see the continuation of the story featuring the adventures of the two detectives.

Which Studio Will Adapt The Second Season?
If we ever get a second season, Studio Millepensee will most likely handle it. They are the studio that took care of the first season of the anime.
However, due the extremely fast pace fans have been mad at the studio. So, it is also very likely that we might never get a sequel since the fans are did not feel satisfied with the season 1, and not many are looking forward to a sequel.

The entire first season of Cop Craft is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime, Netflix, Hulu, and other platforms. The availability of Cop Craft Season 2 through digital streaming remains the same.
