Suicide Squad Isekai Anime: Release Date, Plot & More!

Suicide Squad Isekai Anime Overview

The first trailer of this anime released about eight months ago, and everybody was like “Wait what? Levi? What’s Levi doing there? Dude’s got a mouth painted on top of his mouth! *In a sacrastic tone* Oh boy, I can already see how amazing this anime is gonna turn out for DC fans.”

But the good thing is, I’m no DC fan, I’m an isekai fan. So I couldn’t care less about Joker becoming an ackerman or him getting a fancy paint job on his face.

And that’s exactly why I think Suicide Squad isekai is gonna be lit!

I don’t know how many of you know this, but our girl Harley Quinn and her gang are making their debut in the anime universe, and we are only a few months away from witnessing it!

Which Studio Will Animate This Upcoming DC Anime

The best part? The series is going to be animated by Con Studio, the same company that was responsible for several viral anime like Attack on Titan, Spy x Family, and Vinland Saga. So the animation is guaranteed to be epic. By the way, this is also the reason why Joker looks like Levi; Wit Studio just can’t get over Levi. I mean who could? He’s just that cool.

Mori Calliope Will Work On The Anime’s Ending Theme Song

But wait, that’s not all. There’s a cherry on top! The theme song of the series is going to be the work of the one and only Mori Calliope! What a time to live, am I right? Seeing all these big name folks working together this time makes me more and more hopeful for the series as we’ve never had a super successful western adaptation yet, and this could just be it!

Suicide Squad Isekai Anime Trailers

We’ve already gotten a total of 3 trailers so far, and I don’t know about you guys, but I’m totally loving the show’s concept already! Here’s the latest trailer of the anime.

What Will Be The Anime’s Plot?

The story will feature the party of Gotham’s five notorious criminals, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, and King Shark, getting isekaied into a medieval fantasy period through a mysterious portal.

In a world of swords and magic, our heroes have to run wild and go crazy with their guns and baseball bats in order to complete their mission. After all, if they fail, only death awaits them.

Director & Voice Actor Details

Directed by Eri Osada, the same person who was responsible for Jujutsu Kaisen and JoJo Part 4, we can hopefully expect amazing storytelling. At the very least, I’m sure it will be far better than the disaster of a movie called Batman Ninja that Warner Bros produced a couple of years ago.

I mean, of course they would’ve learned their lesson from that epic flop, right? So that’s probably one less thing to worry about. Hopefully.

But the one thing I absolutely loved about Suicide Squad Isekai, other than our dangerously adorable King Shark ofcourse, is that its Japanese voice actors have gone above and beyond to create the perfect voiceovers for the characters. I mean, if you looked at the above trailer you’d know it is simply perfect. The VAs literally lived the characters!

And boy, I still can’t get over the fact that Dio’s voice actor is actually playing PeaceMaker!

Suicide Squad Isekai Anime Release Date

Suicide Squad Isekai Anime Release Date

This series is set to release sometime this July, but we don’t know the exact release date just yet.

I’m assuming we’ll hear more official news from the producers in the upcoming weeks, but it doesn’t matter to me anyway! I wait for shows to end so that I can binge them all in one go. I mean who’s got the patience to wait an entire week for a new episode? I’d rather wait and watch them all at once!

Fan Responses & Expectations

Anyway, there are two types of fan responses to this series’ announcement. One is from people like me who are actually excited about it, and the other is from the edge lords who think the entire isekai genre is trash, and this series is going to be one of the many garbage adaptations. And of course, from the perspective of an isekai junkie like me, their opinions are simply invalid.

But what do you guys think about this? Are you hyped for it? Or do you think it’s going to be another flop? Let me know in the comments below!
