In the anime series Nobunaga Concerto, a high school boy named Saburo goes back in time to the Sengoku period for unknown reasons. He meets Nobunaga, a historical person from Japan, right away. Since Saburo has the same face as Nobunaga, the real Nobunaga asked Sabura to take his place as a ruler and then left.
As he takes on the look of the warlord Oda Nobunaga, Saburo must find a way to get back to his own time in the tumultuous time period. At the same time, he has to take over Japan and bring all the states together, just like the person in history did.
Nobunaga Concerto Season 2: Renewal Status
Fans have been eagerly waiting to hear if Nobunaga Concerto will be back for a second season. There haven’t been any public announcements yet about this great anime isekai. Every year, less and less people watch the show, which makes it hard for the show to be revived.
Not only that, but the first season of Nobunaga Concerto was just a long commercial for the live-action show. The goal of the animation series was to get people to watch the same-named live-action Japanese drama series.

Given the nature of the series, I wouldn’t really hold my hopes up because shows like this one almost never comeback.

During the first season, we saw Saburo change and grow as he got used to his new life. Season 2 would give us a chance to learn more about Saburo’s relationships with the other characters, both his friends and his enemies. We can expect more emotional times and fights that are more intense.
Nobunaga Concerto Manga After Anime
Since the possibility of a renewal is looking really bad, I think fans should take the Nobunaga Concerto manga after finishing the anime. This way, you will get to enjoy the award winning manga series’ story. There are a total of 22 volumes so far in 2023. The manga series will end with the 23rd volume which will probably drop in late 2023 or early 2024.
But there is a problem for English readers because the translations are not exactly up to date.
While the anime follows the story of the manga, the adaptation left out a lot of content from the manga. In an interview, the mangaka of the series mentioned that it will take 5 seasons to finish the story. However, the anime skipped so much and compressed everything into a single season.
So I would suggest starting the manga from the start.
By the time the anime finished airing, there were a total of 11 manga volumes present. After that, we still go more volumes. The final volume will be the 23rd one which will be published sometime in 2023 or 2024 if it gets delayed.
Fan Theories and Expectations
As fans eagerly wait for a second season, they have come up with a lot of ideas and expectations. Some people think that Saburo’s acts in the past could have effects on the present, while others think that new historical figures will be introduced. Online communities and talks show how excited and excited the fans are for season 2.
