Usually, girls in anime are mignonne et girly. They’ll be the purest souls you could ever find. But then, that is just a stereotype, and there are some crazy anime girls that blow that stereotype to smithereens.
We’re talking about the kind of girls that are too insane to be left alone.
You need to note that we are not talking only about Yanderes here. They are clearly insane, but there are other types of insane as well.
In this article, we will be listing our top 15 picks for the craziest anime girls of all time!
15+ Craziest Anime Girls Of All Time
- Akane Hiyama
- Toko Fukawa
- Kotonoha Katsura
- Minatsuki Takami
- Haruna Niekawa, Mika Harima
- Shion Sonozaki
- Yuno Gasai
Senjogahara From “Bakemonogatari”
Would you call a girl insane if she always carried staplers, scissors, and other sharp stationery items? I would!
Especially with Senjogahara, she actually uses them on our MC, so that’s pretty much everything she needs to earn a spot on this list.
Before meeting the MC, she used to be a sickly girl with a very low profile. But after meeting him, she got her life back—too much to the point that she now physically abuses our poor MC whenever she feels like it.

Anna From “Shimoneta”
Crazy anime girls are usually villains and Yanderes. And that is exactly the case with Anna.
Anna was the student council president at Tokioka Academy. At first glance, everything looks fine with her. However, her insane obsession with Okuma creates a mess for everyone to deal with.
She’ll do anything to charm Okuma. If a girl gets too close to Okuma, she could even die because Anna is that insane.
Keep sharp objects away from her during one of her crazy cycles.

Midari From “Kakegurui”
We simply cannot have a list of crazy anime girls without having any characters from the Kakegurui series. As a matter of fact, every single character in Kakegurui is crazy in one way or another.
But there are a couple of personnages féminins that take the crown when it comes to their craziness, and Midari is one of them.
Like everyone else in the series, Midari is a gambling addict who would even risk losing her life on a gamble. And the obviously insane expression on her face from being pleasured at the prospect of losing everything is just unbeatable.

Akane Hiyama From “Love Tyrant”
The very name of the anime series gives away the fact that the anime will revolve around an insane female character.
La Yandere nature of Akane Hiyama, who is the star of this show, is difficult for the other characters to deal with.
Seiji, who was obviously head over heels in love with Akane, was unaware of this particular fact.
Akane, on the other hand, was capable of going berserk at any time and stabbing anyone to death if they threatened the chimie that she shared with Seiji.
It is imperative that you do not give her any sharp objects, such as knives or the blades of hair clippers, or else you can kiss your life goodbye.
Yumeko Jabami From “Kakegurui”
If you thought I was going to add Midari to the list and leave Yumeko out, you’d be dead wrong. Because Yumeko is the girl who out-crazed Midari and scared the shit out of her.
Yumeko is a compulsive gambler who is clearly insane in her head. She looks very beautiful and acts nice and polite when she is not gambling. But her gambling self is just too fou for anyone in the series to handle.
As a matter of fact, every Kakegurui fan will admit that the only reason we watch the show is to see Yumeko’s bold and crazy gambling moves.
Yukako From “JoJo Part 4: Diamond Is Unbreakable”
Yukako is probably the craziest girl in all of JoJo anime. She was overly obsessed with Koichi and even locked him up and kept him in prison so that she could have him forever.
She was a typical Yandere who would do anything to hurt her lover or anyone who came close to her lover. But as the series progressed, Koichi managed to change her.
At the end, I would even say that they made a pretty great couple. That said, nobody could forget just how crazy Yukako was at the beginning.
Palm From “Hunter x Hunter”
Palm is the yandere character from the Hunter x Hunter series. She falls in love with the main character, Gon, despite their huge age difference.
When Gon did not respond to her feelings, she went fou and tried to kill him. Yeah, she pulled a classic Yandere move right there. “If I can’t have you, nobody can have you” is the motto of all Yandere girls, for real.
Palm usually looks like a witch and is straight-out horrifying with her hair all over her face. But during her date with Gon, she showed just how pretty she can be.
Sadly, Gon’s rejection of her made her fall right back into her old creepy self.
Toko Fukawa From “Danganronpa: The Animation”
Touko Fukawa is innocent and reserved, much like the majority of the other girls that are featured on this list. But of course, by this point, we are all aware that we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover.
Touko is a writing prodigy par excellence, and she possesses insane writing skills.
Maybe the universe thought that her skills needed to be balanced out by the fact that she had no social skills.
Because of this, when she first gets a crush on Byakuya, it doesn’t take long for it to turn into an unhealthy obsession. She starts having strange sexual fantasies with him, and this allows us to see the twisted side of her personality.
Kotonoha Katsura From “School Days”
Kotonoha Katsura had a hard childhood. Others couldn’t stand her beauty, so she was always bullied and never had friends. She became completely dependent on Makoto after meeting him. This, in turn, made her obsess over him.
After all, she finally had a boyfriend. But the only thing is that she is not normal due to her childhood. She became a twisted person. Any threat that Makoto will leave triggers her violence, and she can even kill for him. We sympathize with her, but she is without a doubt one of the most fou anime girls.
Minatsuki Takami From “Deadman Wonderland”
The inmates at Deadman Wonderland were known for their erratic and unpredictable behavior. The fact that we have located a crazy girl in this anime should not come as a surprise to anyone. Minatsuki Takami is a two-faced, manipulative girl who is twisted to the core.
In the past, she would manipuler her brother into assaulting her own father. In Deadman Wonderland, she continued to employ these same manipulation strategies.
She appeared to be a very timid young girl when she was in the MC’s presence, and she had developed an odd crush on him.
It should come as no surprise that she utilized this “innocent girl” strategy from her bag of tricks in order to achieve her goal.
Haruna Niekawa, Mika Harima From “Durarara!”
Haruna is the epitome of a crazy anime girl and serves as an excellent example. She became so preoccupied with the man she had feelings for that it compelled her to assault him. It is a strange twist of fate that a young woman whose name literally translates to “spring” is capable of committing such horrific acts. You can tell from the look in her eyes that she is willing to sacrifice everything for Takashi and that there is nothing that can stop her from doing so.
Another character from the same anime, Mika Hirama, who is on par with Haruna, is featured here. People say that while she was following Seiji around, she came dangerously close to having her life taken by him. This adds to the intrigue surrounding her. She even went so far as to break into his house just because she was interested in him.
But her lover was so attracted to the severed head of a Dullahan. What makes Mika even crazier is the fact that she had a face transplant to look like the Dullahan.
Lucy From “Elfen Lied”
If you are looking for a character who has a screw loose in their head, then look no further than Elfen Lied. Lucy fits the bill perfectly. The events of the story revolve around Lucy and her otherworldly abilities. She is capable of doing anything she sets her mind to, from creating invisible arms through the use of télékinésie to spreading viruses among human males. Naturally, those who were interested in her abilities forced her to participate in inhumane government experiments.
She had good fortune in that she was able to flee the facility and find two college students who were kind enough to take her to their home. When Lucy loses her temper, everyone should probably take cover because she is capable of doing a lot of damage in that state.
Esdeath From “Akame Ga Kill”
On this roster of characters, Esdeath is certainly among the most well-known names. She was the primary antagonist of Akame ga Kill. She was also hopelessly in love with Tatsumi.
Esdeath was a formidable adversary who could destroy everything she came into contact with and freeze anything that stood in her way.
The instant that she laid eyes on Tatsumi, something clicked inside of her, and she made the decision to bring him along with her.
She was so cold-hearted that she didn’t care about anyone else and took pleasure in making her enemies suffer as much as possible.
Shion Sonozaki From “Higurashi When They Cry”
Shion is easily the craziest girl in the anime Higurashi When They Cry. We can easily picture Shion Sonozaki having a mental meltdown at some point in the series. We all remember the horrific destruction that ensued after that, which left a great number of people permanently scarred.
Shion, despite giving off the impression of being a sweet and naive female character, is actually a deranged manipulator.
She is willing to concoct any lie, regardless of the potential repercussions, if it will be to her advantage.
It is only possible for her to pull off such a brilliant and unique trick as the way in which she spreads rumors about her adversaries, as she is the only one who is capable of doing so.
Hayase From “To Your Eternity”
Hayase used to be a valiant female warrior, who had too much pride and ego. But all that was destroyed when she was brutally defeated in the fight against the main character, Fushi.
Ever since, she has been insanely obsessed with Fushi. In order to make him her own, she goes around kill everything that he values the most.
Her mind is completely broken to the point that the only thing she cares in the world is about her making Fushi her own, and even tries to get physique multiple times.
Yuno Gasai From “Future Diary”
At first sight, Yuno Gasai is a sweet young girl who is even adorable at times. But that is just a fake face that she wears to fool people.
Her true self is far more gruesome et creepy. Over the course of her teenage life, she killed several people and even tried to destroy the entire world after attaining such godly powers.
Her boyfriend is the one thing that has driven this crazy girl insane. She is very obsessed with him and kills any other girls who even talk to him. But through it all, she was very loyal to her boyfriend, only hurting him when she had to.
Satou From “Happy Sugar Life”
It is so easy to be misled by the anime’s title into thinking that the anime will be a lighthearted one.
But the main character, Sautou, demonstrates right away in the first episode that things are about to get twisted. And it did.
Satou was madly in love with a little girl and had kidnapped her, locking her inside her house.
She blinded random guys, burned down houses, and killed people all so she could make sure to have a “happy sugar life” with her beloved little lover.
Not to mention, she did all this as a regular girl. Satou, unlike the majority of the other characters on this list, never possessed any capacités that would lead her to believe she possessed the ability to be fou.
All this easily makes her sit at the top of this list of the craziest anime girls of all time.
