Season 2 of Youjo Senki has been confirmed and is in production as we speak. However, the production team hasn’t announced the release date, but it’s expected in 2024.

Season 1 premiered in January, suggesting Season 2 might follow suit in January 2024. Remember, this is just speculation. It is not confirmed that the show will air next January. It might even release around October, when most popular shows release.

Usually, it takes 12 to 18 months after the announcement for a new season to be released. So, it is pretty much guaranteed that The Saga of Tanya the Evil 2 will air in 2024. Which means Youjo Senki Season 2 won’t arrive in 2023.

The show’s director, Yutaka Uemura’s, involvement in FLCL: Shoegaze has caused the delay.

The Saga of Tanya the Evil series originally started as a novel series. It later got a light novel adaptation on October 31, 2013. The LN is still going on as of October 2023 and has a total of 14 volumes so far.

The anime’s first season and first movie covered only four volumes of the light novel. This leaves us with 8 more volumes available for production of Youjo Senki season 2.

So, yes, there is more than enough source material for a sequel. This is why Kadokawa finally decided to greenlight the production of the second season.

Since the movie didn’t cover the entire fourth volume, there is a good chance that season 2 will continue with the remaining chapters in volume 4. If they decide to skip those chapters, then the story will start from volume 5 of the light novel.

What Will Happen In Youjo Senki Season 2?

In the 2019 movie’s conclusion, Tanya shifts to research but unexpectedly gets command of the 8th Kampfgruppe, Salamander, combining tanks, artillery, and infantry, orchestrated by Being X.

Being X aims to make the atheist Tanya a believer. This relates to Season 2’s hinted conflict.

The Empire’s warlike reputation spawns enemies. There’s a plan to “rectify the mistake,” which involves eliminating an officer, possibly Tanya. With a target on her head, we will see Tanya survive the brutal world.

Season 1 covered the first three light novel volumes, and the 2019 movie followed Volume 4. Season 2 will likely continue from there, focusing on Salamander’s pivotal mission in Volume 5.

Quale studio animerà la prossima stagione?

The producer, Kadokawa, has officially announced that Studio Nut will be responsible for Youjo Senki season 2. This is the same studio that worked on season 1 and the 2019 movie.

This is a relief for fans because it ensures the same animation quality and style for the sequel. It is very common in the anime industry to change studios, which ultimately disappoints fans.

If you have never heard about Studio Nut, I really can’t blame you. It is a relatively new Japanese animation company, established in 2017. They’ve only worked on eleven series so far, including the upcoming season of Saga of Tanya the Evil.

This studio has exclusively focused on the Youjo Senki, FLCL, Deca Dence, and Blue Gant series.

Where Can I Watch Youjo Senki Season 2?

Season 1 of The Saga of Tanya the Evil is available to stream on Crunchyroll e Netflix. However, the movie is exclusively available on Crunchyroll.

So, when season 2 releases, we can definitely expect Crunchyroll to stream it. Netflix might add the sequel to its library, but we don’t know for sure as of now.

Once the second season finishes, we’ll also get a Blu-ray release. Fans who prefer watching offline and collecting DVDs can opt to buy them from Blu-ray.com or Amazon.
