Hey there, fellow anime bloggers! Today’s article is going to be something for you guys. Well, some of the below software tools also apply to bloggers in other niches as well, but these are the tools I’ve used as an anime blogger.
I’ve been blogging about anime for over 3 years now, and over the course of that time I’ve used several tools to help grow my anime blog. In this article, I’ll go over some of the most important anime blogging tools that you must be using.
What’s so different about anime blogging?
One thing that sets anime sites apart from sites in other niches is the images. Since anime is a form of visual entertainment, you will need quality images when you write about it too.
Not only that, people nowadays are too lazy to read thousands of lines of plain text. Which is why it is important to spice things up with some cool images. This is why I’ll be mentioning tools related to images in addition to the normal article writing and SEO tools.

Image Related Anime Blogging Tools
Canva
Canva is the ultimate content creation tool on the internet. You can create premium looking images for Instagram, Pinterest, blogs, etc. If you want to create custom blog headers with your site’s logo, this is the place to go.
I primarily use this for creating blog headers and infographics, which I will later post on my Instagram page. The image you see above was also made by me using Canva.
Auto Screen Capture
Getting images of your favorite anime might be difficult if you rely completely on Google. You might not get the best pic or sometimes there aren’t many pictures if the anime is not very popular.
Either way, the best thing for you to do is capture screenshots when you watch anime. But doing it manually is a pain. Which is why I suggest using this tool called Auto Screen Capture that will automatically capture a screenshot at regular intervals.
I suggest configuring the settings so that it takes a screenshot every 5 seconds. This way, you’ll get images of almost all the anime scenes.
Waifu 2x
Waifu 2x is a hidden gem. It is a completely free blogging tool that you can use to increase the image resolution of a picture. This is so amazing because there are other websites that do the same thing for a hefty price.
You can resize your image and increase its resolution. This is perfect for image heavy niches like anime and travel blogs.
CompressPNG & CompressJPEG
CompressPNG and CompressJPEG are websites that you can use to compress the images before you upload them to your website. Doing this saves some disk space, but most importantly, it improves the load speed of the site.
Alternatively, you can use premium tools like shortPixel to automatically compress and convert your images to the most efficient formats available.
Pinterest is not necessarily an anime blogging tool, but it is a really nice medium to share you anime images and link your website to it. This way, when people find the image, they can click on it and get to your blog.
Besides, you are going to use images on your blogs anyway. So why not just repost them on Pinterest, which might give you a chance to funnel new readers into your site.
Blog Writing Tools
Quillbot
Quillbot is my go-to tool whenever I want to write something. It has a feature called “Co-Writer,” which will automatically write content along with you. For example, if you type one sentence, it’ll automatically generate the next sentence related to what you typed. It uses artificial intelligence to figure out what you’re writing about and assists you in creating quality content.
But that’s not all! You have several other features like plagiarism checker, grammar checker, paraphraser, summarizer, etc.
I mostly use Quillbot for its grammar check and summarizer features. By far, this is the best buddy for bloggers, no matter what your niche is.
The only thing is, you can’t get all these things for free. But it is worth the money! Sure, you get limited access to each feature using the free version, but that’s barely going to be enough. However, its price is pretty cheap as it only costs about $5 per month.

Grammarly
Grammarly is another blogging tool for doing grammar and spelling checks. Before I got to know about Quillbot, I was using Grammarly, and it does its job. However, I have no idea how good its premium version is, nor do I know what other features the premium offers.
I don’t use this anymore, but I know people praise Grammarly as one of the best tools on the market. So you might want to give it a shot.
WordCounter.net
Now you might be thinking, “Why do I need to count the number of words?”
Well, here’s a surprise for you. WordCounter.net is not all about counting words. That is supposed to be the main feature, but I’m more interested in the extra features that it has.
When you paste your article on the website, it will give you the total number of words, sentences, etc. But it also gives you the keyword density data and reading score.
The most useful part about this is, as you might have guessed, the keyword density. I literally paid for the Yoast premium to get this information. Little did I know there was a free tool that could give me the same keyword density data.
WordPress Plugins For Anime Blogs
Webpushr
Let’s face it. Most of your blog’s visitors come straight from Google, read what they want, and leave. Most of them don’t return. This is where this incredible blogging tool called Webpushr steps in and helps you retain your audience.
Whenever a visitor reads your blog, you can prompt them to “subscribe” to your blog. And if they do, they’ll get some neat notifications whenever you post something.
The bell icon you see somewhere in the bottom corner of this site is also a feature of Webpushr. All the recent posts will be accessible through it, and people can subscribe or unsubscribe using that bell icon.
Inline Related Posts
Inline Related Posts is a plugin that will help reduce the bounce rate of your site. If your site is an informational site that requires people to navigate to other pages on your site to learn more about a topic, your bounce rate is probably already good.
But for anime blogs, people usually don’t go to the next page. They’ll just leave after they’ve read the article they came for. In such cases, it is important to capture the attention of the visitors and try to make them interested in your other articles.
For this purpose, this plugin will create a related post block in between your articles. In the premium version, it goes one step ahead and adds an image thumbnail to the related post block, which people just can’t miss.
Translatepress
Translatepress is a WordPress plugin that you can use to translate your blog to other languages. For this, you need to set up the Google Translate API service (they charge a certain amount based on how much you translate), or get access to the DeepL Translate API.
Once all the set up is done, your articles (both old and new) will be automatically translated.
Now, this is not something that every blogger out there needs. It is kind of costly and might not work for all kinds of niche blogs. You need to do your research on which countries your niche is popular in and translate your site into their language.
Also, you should remember that the revenue you will get from non-US countries is going to be very small. Regardless, if you can somehow get a ton of views, you’ll find this rewarding.
SEO Tools For Anime Blogs
Ubersuggest
Ubersuggest is an amazing keyword research tool. It allows you to write a keyword and it will give you how many people are searching for it, alternative keywords related to it, etc.
Not only that, it also helps you monitor certain keywords your website is ranking for. It will let you know when your article is ranked up or down on Google.
It also has a feature called “Playbook,” which will suggest how to structure your article and which keywords or keyphrases you must use.
You can get a decent amount of work done with just the free version. But if you wish to research a lot, then you will have to opt for the paid version.
Ezoic LEAP & Big Data Analytics
Ezoic is popular as an adsense alternative. But that’s not all they are about. They also offer some really cool blogging tools that you can use to improve your site.
The Ezoic LEAP tool helps you optimize your website so that the load time and the overall performance of your site will improve.
The Big Data Analytics tool, as you can guess, is all about your site data. It is far more detailed than what you might find on Google Analytics.
If you have several authors on your site, you can use this to track the author’s performance and also check the revenue, engagement, and bounce rate of each and every article you’ve written.
You can do so much with this data to improve your blog.
Yoast SEO
If you already own a blog, I’m pretty sure you are using Yoast SEO. It is the best tool out there for on-page SEO optimization. As you write your article on WordPress or whatever CMS you use, Yoast will generate a quick report on what you need to improve for better SEO.
There are other features like social sharing and stuff, but I rarely use them.
Also, the Yoast Premium is a good thing to buy if you are interested in learning about SEO, as it gives you access to their amazing SEO course and learning materials. But otherwise, you can really make do without the premium feature.
