The Soul Society Invasion by the Sternritters
The Sternritters are a Quincy group that was created 1000 years ago for the sole purpose of ending the Soul Reapers and destroying the Soul Society. They are the key group in Thousand Years of Blood War arc.
Ywach, the Quincy god, has distributed his holy blood into these sternritters by carving them during an engraving quincy ritual. After a quincy is carved by Ywach, it turns into a unique symbol. And the quincy is gifted with mysterious powers. The Sternritters are a quincy group filled with powerful fighters who are said to be even more powerful than every Captain in the Soul Society.
There were two Quincys who didn’t receive any powers from Yhwach; they are Gerard Valkyrie and Pernida Parnkgjas, and they were given letters on the basis of the powerful abilities they already had. The members of Sternritter wear long white coats. This is the exact opposite of the soul reaper uniform, which is black. They also carry a palm-length medallion which has the Wandenreich logo engraved into it.
When the medallion is used by the Sternritter, he can steal the powers of the Bankai released by his opposition. After this, the owner of the medallion can use the powers of the Bankai at his own will and attack the Soul Reaper. But they are unable to use the full powers of bankai, because they can’t control it so early. Yhwach has a rule for the Sternritters: whoever steals the bankai of a captain has to kill the Soul Reaper. They are supposed end the fight right there. Whenever a member of Sternritter dies, their powers are returned to Yhwach. This is because the main reason they got so powerful was thanks to the blood of the Quincy God Ywach.
The Return of Aizen
We can’t wait to see Shunsui Kyoraku as the new Head Captain in Thousand Years of Blood War Arc. There are new captains who have been a part of the Gotei 13 in some way or the other. Like Shinji, Lisa, Kensei, etc., who are the new additions to the Gotei 13. They were condemned as betrayers of Soul Society when they were framed by Aizen and his plans.
During the battle of Shinigamis and Sternritters, Shunsui Kyoraku decides to bring out Sosuke Aizen.
Aizen is undoubtedly one of the strongest soul reapers in the soul society. He asks Aizen for his help and then, surprisingly, Aizen agrees to his plans. But on his own terms, ofcourse. This takes us to the fight where Yhwach enters the Gotei 13 Palace and Aizen welcomes him by saying “Welcome to My Soul Society.”
Yhwach goes on to ask Aizen about his sudden decision to protect Soul Society. Aizen replies that that’s not his intention and the only reason he is doing this is because he just wants to defeat him for the pleasure. Aizen later joins forces with Kurosaki Ichigo to defeat the Quincy God Ywach.
The Return of Grimmjow
Urahara Kisuke goes and brings on Grimmjow, the former Espada. There is a saying that Urahara made a contract with Grimmjow, to which he agreed. The Blood War fight takes place between Urahara and Askin Nakk Le Vaar. This leads to a very serious fight between them. That’s when Urahara activates his Bankai for the first time in the series and shocks everyone. His bankai, Kanonbiraki Benehime, has the ability to break and reconstruct everything at his own will.
During the fight, Urahara keeps Askin on his toes and creates a path. Before Askin can make his next move, a hand goes through his chest from behind and rips off his heart. That’s Grimmjow’s entry into the Blood War; he kills Askin and squashes his heart in his palm. The Thousand Years of Blood War Arc isn’t only about Ichigo. That’s why it is the best arc of Bleach by Tite Kubo and they had to bring it back!
Will there be new Bankai releases?
The New Thousand Years of Blood War Arc will have plenty of interesting stuff. For example, the Bankai of Captain Kenpachi Zaraki. Urahara Kisuke’s Bankai. Captain Toshiro’s real Bankai. Unohana’s Bankai and the new head captain, Shunsui Kyoraku’s Bankai.
As the fans who are up to date on the manga know, the Head Captain, Genryusai Yamamoto, gets slashed in half by Ywach. This Final Arc will cover all the lingering plot-holes and unanswered questions.
The MC, Shingami Kurosaki Ichigo, is the only Shonen protagonist who doesn’t have a goal and only fights to protect his family and friends. The anime community can’t wait to witness the rebirth of the strawberry.
Bleach is one of the best animes ever made, and it might even be the best. It would be interesting to see how it would do in today’s time with competition on such a large scale.
